about me

Hello,

My name is Kayla and I am a student at Des Moines Area Community College studying Computer Information Systems. Currently I am interested mainly in Web Development. My completion of this degree is set for May of 2025.

I studied at the University of Northern Iowa and earned a bachelor of arts in Leisure, Youth, and Human Services. I have quickly learned that there is a lack of people in the field that do anything with web development or software development. I decided to go back to school so that I can take my skills in nonprofits and combine them with my web development interests.

At UNI, I played rugby. I loved my time doing that, but I have since retired from playing to save what is left of my brain and continue staying involved in different ways. Currently I work with the national collegiate governing body for rugby. I also am a commissioner for some teams in the Western United States. I am working with the team at that organization to manage some of their web based applications and communications. I hope to continue that in a professional fashion while expanding my skills and offerings to other non-profit organizations.
